Donna Nell Oakes, 55, of Jacksonville passed from this life on July 16, 2017. She was born October 7, 1961 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Freddie Matthews and Becky N. Hankins Matthews Ard. Donna was a kind and loving daughter, mother, grandmother and sister. She spent many years working as an EMT, Firefighter and a Police Officer before becoming an LPN.
She is preceded in death by her mother, and son Aaron Oakes.
Survivors include daughters Jennifer Walker and Amber Kirchner, father Freddie Matthews, step-father David Ard, grandchildren Lexus Walker, Jade Williamson, R.J. Walker, Aaden Walker, Aria Kirchner and Angel Huffman. Other survivors include siblings Dennis Matthews, David Matthews and Debbie Minton, niece Deanna Matthews, nephews Clint Jones, Kris Matthews, Jesse Matthews and Cody Matthews along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10am, Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
