FAYETTEVILLE — John Bailey, 90, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, in Fayetteville. He was born Sept. 25, 1921, in Johnson, Ark., the son of John and Lucy Boatright Bailey.
He had attended Black Oak Church of Christ and served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his first wife. Prella Bailey, and mother of his children; his second wife, Beulah Bailey; and three brothers.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry Bailey and Louis Bailey, both of Brentwood, and Barry Bailey of West Fork; one daughter, Joy Benjamin of Brentwood; three brothers, Bob Bailey of Houston, Texas, Carson Bailey of Farmington and Carl Bailey of Springdale; one sister, Lavern Glen of Springdale; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at Beard's Funeral Chapel, with Chris Benjamin officiating. Burial will be in Brentwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
