Mr Leroy Chambliss was born on August 7, 1942 in Urbana , AR to the late Byrd O. and Gertie Oliver Chambliss. On September 24, 2020 Leroy was called from this earthly realm and welcomed home to eternal rest.
Leroy professed his faith in Christ at an early age, and untied with the Mt Zion Baptist Church in Urbana, AR. He lived most of his adult life in the Dallas/ Fort Worth, Texas area. He worked as a long distance truck driver, and often stated he had visited every state except Hawaii and Alaska. If you were traveling, he could always provide the best route to take. He often mentioned people he met and places he saw while driving throughout the United States. Leroy known as “Pea Goodie” by many of his boyhood friends, was often known as free spirited and willing to help others.
Leroy Chambliss was preceded in death by two brothers, Prentice Leon Chambliss and Willie Earl Chambliss. Leroy Chambliss is survived by one son Roy Chambliss of Lewisville, Texas, two sisters Barbara Chambliss Thrower of Pine Bluff, AR. and Yvonne Chambliss Creer of Little Rock, AR. A very special friend, Murlinda F. Pomphrey of Urbana, AR. , a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. All will truly cherish him in loving memories.
Leroy fought a good fight, and will be forever loved and greatly missed by many.
Services entrusted to Andrews Funeral Home El Dorado, AR. Graveside Service to be held Tuesday 09/29/20 at Mt Zion Cemetery, Urbana, AR.
