OBIT

Jessie Virginia Loraine Waller McElroy of Jacksonville, our sweet Mother, who was saved by Grace, passed into the eternal arms of our Lord and Savior on February 7, 2013. She was the first child of five, born to the late Guy Adolphus and Ella Estelle Leggitt Waller on May 5, 1927 in Vilonia, Arkansas. She always said her parents must have thought they would not be blessed with more children, so they gave her all the names.

She and her husband Frank celebrated 57 years of marriage before his passing on May 30, 2003. She grew up in Jacksonville, but in the early 1950s, they moved to North Little Rock, where they raised their family before retiring back to Jacksonville in 1980.

Her family nucleus was her life, enjoying church on Sunday morning followed by a family potluck at MawMaw and PawPaw Waller's, visiting with all the siblings and their children. She loved to cook while singing hymns, sewing for her daughters, smocking and cross-stitching for her granddaughters, oil painting for anyone that would take a picture. She proudly served as President of the North Little Rock PTA, receiving the lifetime membership pin and also loved her civic duty of working at the voting polls. After her children were older, she enjoyed working as a seamstress in a boutique. She was robbed of her vivacious life in her late 30's by an undetermined neurological disease. She courageously accepted her life as it was, not dwelling on what she couldn't do, but thankful for what she could do.

Mrs. McElroy is survived by daughter, Andrea Sue Collins and husband, Eddy, their two daughters, Wendi Kuebler and Brandi Garvin; another daughter, Pamelia Elaine Hicks and husband, Robert, and their three children, Keri Gee, Lewis Hicks and Lori Palmintier; and son Stephen Frank McElroy and wife, Elizabeth; and their daughters, Tammi Mason, Dawn Hammett, Stephanie Siegfried, and Chloe McElroy.

She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Siblings include her sister, Ann Uhrich (Norman) of Cabot, three brothers, William Waller of Jacksonville, Verlin Waller of Quitman, and Jim Waller (Carolyn) of McRae; her sister-in-law Louise McElroy of El Dorado, her aunt Sybil Mullinax, cousins and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 11, 2013 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501)982-2136. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
