April 22, 1940 - August 20, 2019
Chester King Sr. was born April 22, 1940 in Union County, the son of Dovie Moore and Elias Thompson. He attended Gardner High school and became a truck driver for over 40 years, he owned his own trucking company King Enterprise. Chester had a love like no other for his animals and the woods. He wasn’t a stranger to anyone. Chester also enjoyed the outdoors and had a chance to travel and visit all 50 states.
Chester gained his wings on Tuesday August 20, 2019 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys King, four sisters, eight brothers, two grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Chester leaves to cherish his loving memories his children Billy King, Dovie (Rodney) Walker, Carlton (Sherry) King, Chester Jr. (Monika) King, James Thompson all of El Dorado, Arkansas. Vernice Terrell and Delinda King of San Antonio Texas; Roderick (Sondra) King of Shreveport, La, and Barbara (Michael) Pumphrey of Little Rock, AR. One sister Onia Mae Jackson of El Dorado, AR .28 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly, and will miss him immensely.
Public Visitation 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday August 30, 2019 at Sims Mortuary. Funeral service will be Saturday August 31, 2019 at 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Baptist church #2 Urbana. Under the direction of Sims Mortuary. Sign the guestbook online at www.simsmortuary.com
