Kenneth Jack Goode of Oxford, son of the late Cully and Emma Gill Goode was born December 7, 1926 in Liberty Grove, Texas. He died January 31, 2000 in Melbourne. He was 73.
Mr. Goode was united in marriage to Betty Hart on August 30, 1960 in Houston, Texas. His career was serving in the Armed Forces. He served as Chief Engineer of Steam Vessels in the United States Coast Guard – Merchant Marines. He also served as a Specialist Second Class in the United States Army. He was a member of the Melbourne Veterans of Foreign Wars Jones-Lewis Post #4687.
Survivors include his wife Betty Goode of the home; three sons, Kenneth Eugene Goode of Minor, North Dakota; Steve Anthony Turner of Bald Knob and Robert Earl Turner of Fort Smith; ten grandchildren, John Goode, Stephen Goode, Christopher Turner, Jessica Turner, Andy Turner, Jennifer Turner, Ashley Turner, Jack Turner, Jacob Turner, He is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother.
Graveside services will be held Thursday February 3, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oxford Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Gordon Owens, Michael Denny, Darrell Ball and David Owens. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Turner and Steve Turner.
