OBIT

Antonio Zenen “Pirri” Merayo, 68, of Jacksonville passed from this life on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. He was born Saturday, July 30, 1949 in Oriente, Cuba to the late Antonio Merallo and Aracell Macnado Merayo. With the help of his friend, Alan Leveritt, Antonio and his family immigrated to the United States in May of 1980. He retired from Anheuser Busch-Golden Eagle. Mr. Merayo enjoyed fishing, working on cars and flying competition kites, but always found his greatest joy in his family.

Survivors include his wife of forty-seven years, Nancy Merayo; children, Alex and wife, Melissa Merayo of Jacksonville, Humberto “Bert” and wife, Sarah Merayo of Little Rock; grandchildren, Nancy-Ann Merayo, Bailey Merayo, Keegan Merayo, Matthew Merayo, Nathan Merayo, Elizabeth Merayo and Levi Long; great-grandchildren, Saxxen and Makenzie Southerland; siblings, Iris Ortega of Little Rock, Milagros Santos and Melba Gonzales both of Florida; special friend, Alan Leveritt and family of Little Rock, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, May 28, 2018 at the funeral home. Arrangements entrusted to Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home 501-982-2136.
