Mrs. J. R. Pratt, 69, of Urbana, died at 2 p.m. Tuesday in a local hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Pratt was born on March 12, 1894 at Old Hillsboro in Union County, the daughter of A. C. and Rachel McAdams Martindale. She was a lifelong resident of Union County and was a member of the Urbana Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, J. R. Pratt of Urbana; three sons, Marvin Pratt of El Dorado, Wanie Pratt of Santa Anna, Calif., and LeRoy Pratt of Urbana; two daughters, Mrs. Carrie Webb of Urbana and Mrs. Wirtie Bryan of Norwalk, Calif.; one brother, Wesley Martindale of Boswell, Okla; one sister Mrs. Alice Newsom of Little Rock; 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Urbana Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Bray and the Rev. W. O. Miller officiating. Interment will be in Urbana Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Pallbearers will be W. W. Newsom, Alvin Newsom, Elvin Lewis, E. D. Lewis, James O. Agerton, and H. L. Pritchett. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. J. W. Harper and deacons of the Urbana Baptist Church. The body was taken to the family residence at Urbana Wednesday afternoon.
