FAYETTEVILLE — Vay Barnwell Cox, age 94, of Fayetteville, died on Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at her home. She was born Feb, 7, 1916, in Madison County, to B.T. and Florence Barnwell. She was a longtime member of the Farmington Church of the Nazarene.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Cox of 59 years; four brothers; and four sisters.

She is survived by two sons, David and Paul Cox, both of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Philip Cox, Daniel Cox, Theresa Ehrenberg and Chris Cox; and three great-grandchildren, B.J., Cleo and Timothy.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at Moore's Chapel, with burial at Mount Comfort Cemetery, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.

Leroy W. "Bill" Cox, 78, of Fayetteville died Monday, March 13, 1995, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale.

Born March 8, 1917, at Fayetteville, the son of Ira Walter and Nellie Holland Cox, he was a retired employee of the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Fayetteville and a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors are his wife, Vay Barnwell Cox of the home; two sons, David Cox of Austin, Texas, and Paul Cox of Odessa, Texas; three sisters, Mary Ledbetter, Erma Lee Beeks and Bonnie Beeks, all of Fayetteville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville with the Revs. Gary White and George C. Prentice officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Comfort Cemetery.
