John Charles Lawton

John Charles Lawton, Jr, son of the late John Charles Lawton, Sr and Eleanor Gassett Lawton, was born July 28, 1939 in Mt. Holly, New Jersey. He departed this life February 13, 2013 at his home in Norfork, Arkansas at the age of 73 years, 6 months and 16 days. He spent his life as a son, brother, father, grandfather, provider and friend. During his working years, he was a machinist, working at Hainesport Tool and Die and Bodine Machine Shop both in New Jersey. He was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by two sons: Dennis Lawton of Wideman and John Charles Lawton and his wife, Karen of Hainesport, New Jersey; three sisters: Barbara Symonds of California, Loretta Allchin of North Carolina and Marilyn Jorgensen-Delanco of New Jersey; two grandsons: John Charles Lawton, IV and Kyle Matthew Lawton and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Jamie Cowgill officiating. Burial will be at Galatia Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock, Arkansas. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 19 beginning at 12 noon.

Pallbearers: Scott Vickers, James Loosey and Dennis Price.
