Mr. James William “Sunny” or “Purple” Moten Sr., age 84 of Cross Roads, Arkansas passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in McNab, Arkansas on August 17, 1934 to Ernest and Ruth Clayton Moten. Mr. Moten served in the Army where he fought in the Korean Conflict. He was a diesel mechanic for Cargill and Red River Army Depo where he retired. He also attended the Baptist Church in McNabb, Arkansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sons, James Moten Jr., Bruce Moten, and three brothers, Howard, Dennis, and Glen Moten.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Kay Wall husband George of Cross Roads, AR, Pam Reyenga husband David “Nasty” of Guernsey, AR, two sisters, Ernestine Powell of Harrison, AR, Janice Campbell of Lewisville, AR, six grandchildren, Stacy, Amy, Daniel, Kim, Heath, and Caleb “Little Nasty”, four great grandchildren, Garett, Sarah, Graci, and Kaitlyn, special friend, Gene Carpenter of 58 years, numerous relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, Sunday, October 21, 2018 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home 1001 South Main St. Hope, AR 71801.
Graveside service will be 2:00 pm, Monday, October 22, 2018 at Yellow Creek Cemetery in Fulton, Arkansas with Bro. David Fields officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are by BRAZZEL/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Home, Eddie BRAZZEL, Director.
