James Harlan Tipton was born August 6, 1943, to his parents in Clarksville, Arkansas, and passed away November 30, 2014, in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 71.

He was retired from Custom Home Building.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Jean Myers Tipton; and two brothers, Timmy and Ronnie Tipton.

Mr. Tipton is survived by his wife, Lynda Pannell Tipton of Clarksville; a son, Lanny Tipton of Coal Hill, Arkansas; a daughter, Lisa Venson and husband, Will, of Clarksville; his father, Joseph Harlan Tipton of Clarksville; a sister, Judy Lieux and husband, John, of Fort Smith, Arkansas; a sister in-law, Roxann, and nephew, Joel, of Clarksville, Arkansas; five grandchildren: Katie Tipton and Chris Roberts of Clarksville, David Tipton and wife, Katie, of Hartman, Mikayla Tipton of Ozark, Luke and Noah Venson of Clarksville; and two great-grandchildren, Addison Tipton and Fisher Roberts.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at Clarksville Church of Christ in Clarksville, Arkansas, with Jake Chism officiating.

Burial will follow in Hays Chapel Cemetery in Clarksville. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Roy Pannell Jr., Riley Pannell, Glen Pannell, Will Venson, Luke Venson, and David Tipton.
