Funeral for James Eugene Hays, 63, of Fort Smith, who died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at his home, was at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Hays Chapel Cemetery near Clarksville.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Hays, Paul Hays, Leslie Fisher, Daniel Fisher, Gary Robinson, Ronnie Hays Jr., Jerry Harris Jr., and C. J. Hays.

He was a son of the late Hurley and Wanetta Ralstin Hays, member of the "Good Ole Boys Country Club," retired from Whirlpool as a forklift operator, and was preceded in death by one brother, Doyle Hays.

Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Belcher and husband, Frankie, of Cedarville and Crystal Martin of Fort Smith; two sons, Stoney Hays and wife, Christi, of St. Paul, Minn., and Tony Spence of Fort Smith; three sisters, Virginia Burnette of Muldrow, Okla., Barbara Harris of Van Buren, and Linda Michelmann of Coal Hill; five brothers, Gary Hays and Paul Hays of Fort Smith, David Hays of Idaho, Lester Hays of San Diego, Calif., and Ronnie Hays of Kibler; seven grandchildren, Morgan and Cooper Hays, Ashley, Josh and Michael Belcher, and McKenzie and Grayson Martin; and several nieces and nephews.
