A Celebration of Life for John Richard Boor of Flippin, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Monday, July 3, 2017, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Pastor Kevin Duffy officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, July 2, 2017, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

John passed away June 27, 2017, in Flippin, Arkansas at the age of 82. He was born April 20, 1935, in Cumberland, Maryland, the son of Wayne and Elizabeth Pownall Boor. He married Kay Harris on September 7, 1957, in Nitro, West Virginia. John was a petroleum engineer for Mobile Oil Company and worked all over the world as a Drilling Manager for North Sea Limited. He was a long time member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Mountain Home, Arkansas, serving as an Elder and Stephen Minister before joining the Church on the Rock in Yellville, Arkansas. John was a past president of the Twin Lakes Gun Club and served as an auxiliary member of the United States Coast Guard.

John is survived by his wife, Kay Boor of Flippin, AR; two sons, Stephen and Daniel (Dayna) Boor of TX; daughter, Libby Boor of TX; brother, Bill (Lois) Boor of PA; ten grandchildren including locally, Kayla Underwood of Bull Shoals, AR; and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild and a brother.

Entombment will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum, Mountain Home, Arkansas.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Church of the Rock in Yellville, Arkansas.

Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
