TOWNSEND, James - Jim Townsend, owner of the farm where the copper mine is located, died Tuesday night at his home. Funeral arrangements had not yet been completed.

(from Willow Springs) James Townsend, a pioneer of this community, died at his home Monday evening at 5:25 o'clock after a period of illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at War Eagle. Burial was in War Eagle cemetery. He leaves here a wife and 11 children, all of whom survive him, and one brother, Andy Townsend, and a host of friends.
