Truel Parmer Ratliff

Truel Parmer Ratliff went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at his home in Imboden at the age of 84. He was born Sept. 30, 1926, to Caro A. and Rachel Pace Ratliff at Alicia.

He spent several years in Indianapolis, retiring from Bridgeport Brass before returning to Arkansas in 1984, when he became involved in the cattle business for a few years.

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of People's Faith Tabernacle of Hoxie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles and Garland; and a sister, Dorothy Nunnally.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret "Maggie" of the home; a daughter, Rhonda (Joe) Neiswander of Jonesboro; a son James (Cindy) Dean of Imboden; grandchildren, Jared Neiswander, Jesse Dean and Chandra (Matt) Jira; sisters, Imo Mason, Jolene (Marlan) Munns, Jeanie Davis and Margie Sacco, all of Indianapolis; brother, Kenneth "Doc" (Myrtle) Ratliff of Franklin, Ind.; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will greet visitors from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday at Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie. A celebration of his life will follow at 1 p.m. in Bryan Funeral Home chapel with Roger Brand officiating. Burial was in Calvin Crossing Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: James Dean, Jesse Dean, Jared Neiswander and Brad Graham.
