Ronald D. Preston, 68 of Cave City passed away Friday, July 30, 2021. He was born May 1, 1953 in Newport, Arkansas to Dexter Eugene and Norma Jean (Brock) Preston. He was a retired carpenter and also a shoe cobbler for several years. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting and also loved to search for arrowheads. He was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the Arkansas National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include one brother, Darron Preston (Joyce) of Calico Rock; one sister, Ima Jean Hutchins of Cave City; long time significant other, Teresa Holt of Paragould; two step-daughters, Venita Terry (Lonnie) of Iowa and Regina Watkins of Sidney; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Ron Canard officiating.
Burial will follow in the Ward Cemetery in Strawberry.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 1, 2021 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Heath Preston, Steven Lewis, Bobby Cummings, Jackson Cummings, Johnny Butler and Jessie Hutchins.
Honorary pallbearers are Kyle Bradford, George Ray, Randy Hutchins and Tristin Cummings.
