SUNNY HILLS, Fla. — John Rawlings III, 58, of Sunny Hills, Fla., died Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Bay Medical Center.
A native of Bentonville, John served in the Air Force during the Vietnam conflict and Later in the Arkansas Army National Guard. John was a journeyman electrician for his adult life, and while semi-retired, drove a school bus for the Rogers Independent School District.
John spent his time both in Arkansas and Florida and enjoyed the outdoors, and particularly, fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene C. Lauer of Sunny Hills, Fla.; his sister, Belinda Jean Romanovich of Chipley, Fla., and his sister, Deborah Kay of Fort Worth, Texas.
Survivors include his mother, Rae Lauer of Sunny Hills, Fla.; his son, Lucas Gabriel of Lawrence, Kan.; his brother, Gregg Thompson of Sunny Hills, Fla.; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be held at First Baptist Church in Bentonville at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 6.
