Bentonville - John Nathon Payne, 67, of Hiwassee, died Saturday at the Gravette Medical Center. Born July 18, 1905 in Joplin, Mo., he was a retired farmer.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Leota O'Neal Payne of the home; six sons, James of Petersburg, Va., William and Donald of Bentonville, David of George AFB, Calif., Delbert of Kansas City and Richard of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Nelma Tate of Kansas City, Mrs. Oca Backner of Jane, Mo., Mrs. Beulah Spear of Tulsa and Miss Elizabeth Payne of the home and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Callison-McKinney Funeral Chapel with burial in Bentonville Cemetery.
