Gayle Duane Mitchell, 74, of Ozark, AR died Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was a farmer; raised turkeys for Cargill; former School Bus Driver for Ozark, sold auto parts for all the local parts store over the last 40 years and prepared taxes for AARP. He was born March 15, 1944 in Mt. Top Community, Ozark to Lewis and Eunice Dickerson Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Vickie Sue Stewart Mitchell; a daughter, Myranda Edgar; siblings, Burley, Alta, Ina Fay, Lorene, Delphine (Cricket), Gerald and Jim.
Gayle is survived by his wife, Kathryn Ribitzki Mitchell of Ozark; two sons, Gayle Mitchell, Jr. and wife Lori of Ozark and Michael Mitchell and wife Tracie of Lincoln, Alabama; a daughter, Sarena Wyers and husband Mike of Ozark; Son-in-law, James Edgar of Ozark; extra son, Dennis Hagler; eleven grandchildren, Gayle Mitchell, III (Trey), Chris and Victoria Mitchell, Cortney and Zach Salster, Sydnae Carpenter and Jonah Wyers, David, Steven, and Greg Selby, and Shyanne Nellum; and six great grandsons.
Family will visit with friends from 12:00 until 1:00 PM prior to the service on Monday, July 9th at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel, 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark.
Memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, July 9, 2018 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Randy Boren officiating under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
