CAVE CITY — Jim Hinkle, 84, of Cave City died Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, in a Batesville hospital.

Born Dec. 3, 1926, at Mountain View, he was the son of George and Mamie Beulah Wade Eldridge. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was retired from Rustoleum Corporation in Evanston, Ill., and was a farmer. He was a member of Maxville Missionary Baptist Church north of Cave City.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Ruby Hinkle; three sons, Jerry Hinkle of Phoenix, Larry Hinkle of Cave City and Steve Hinkle of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Jimmy Ann Christiansen of Illinois; a brother, G.E. Hinkle Jr. of Aubrey; five grandchildren, Jenny Sharum and Kim Anderson, both of Illinois, Ashlee Hinkle and Brittany McGuffin, both of Arizona, and Jamie DeHart Hinkle of Florida; three great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Danny Ray Hinkle; and a sister, Minnie Jean Guest.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Maxville Missionary Baptist Church, located north of Cave City, with Boyce Johnson and Grayden Milligan officiating. Burial will be in Maxville Cemetery under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Pallbearers will be Charles Willmuth, Marty Morgan, Ronnie Ashley, Arbra Perkey, Darell Shreve and Chad Wooldridge.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church.

Ruby Hinkle age 94 passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family in Ventana Lakes, Peoria, AZ on Friday, July 23, 2021. Ruby was born March 13, 1927 in Abbeville, MS and moved to Arizona from Cave City, AR in 2017 to be closer to family.

She is survived by her three sons, Jerry Hinkle of Glendale, AZ, Larry Hinkle of Live Oak, FL and Steve Hinkle of Tucson, AZ; her daughter Ann Christiansen of Round Lake Beach, IL; five grandchildren, Jennifer Sharum and Kim Busse, both of Illinois, Ashlee Levandowski and Brittany McGuffin, both of Arizona and Jamie Dee Hinkle of Live Oak, FL; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Ruby is a member of the Maxville Missionary Baptist Church and is preceded in death by her husband, James Hinkle in 2011.

Services will be Sunday August 1, 2021 at the Maxville Missionary Baptist Church located just north of Cave City, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 1:30–2:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service officiated by Bro. Phillip Lewallen at 2:00 p.m.

Burial will follow in the Maxville Cemetery under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
