Vernice Duwane Ledbetter III, 29 of Clarksville, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 in Clarksville.
Duwane was born March 22, 1988 in Clarksville, AR to Mr. V. Duwane JR and Anna Marie (Smith).
Duwane served in the U.S. Marines as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mudding, trail riding and loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his Grandfather Vernice D. Ledbetter SR., Grandmother Joyce Palmer, and Uncle Floyd Ledbetter.
Mr. Ledbetter is survived by his wife Bianca (Baumgartner) Ledbetter; one daughter: Sadie Grace Ledbetter; Mother: Anna Marie and Michael Havener; Father: V. Duwane JR. and Linda Ledbetter; five brothers; Jonathan Havener, Christopher, Ryan, and Ryan Ledbetter, Corey Light, and one sister Amber Light; grandmother Ruth Ledbetter; grandfather Verlon Smith; numerous Uncle, Aunts and Cousins; a host of friends and other family.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Ledbetter’s funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 2, 2018 at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joe Lancaster officiating.
Burial will follow in the Liberty Hill cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home

Identity of body found in Johnson County released
Today, Wednesday, January 24, 2018, the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory positively identified the individual that was discovered deceased this past weekend in northeastern Johnson County as Vernice “Duwane” Ledbetter. Ledbetter was last seen in Johnson County on December 31, 2017.
With the positive identity of the body, the Johnson’s County Sheriff’s Office is now able to release that the three individuals in custody for Murder in the First Degree have been arrested in connection with the death of Mr. Ledbetter.
The three individuals arrested are identified as Brian White, Phillip Raible and Isaac Vaughn. All three are being held on $750,000 bonds for the charge of First Degree Murder. Initial court appearances for all three defendants are scheduled for March 1, 2018 in Johnson County at the Johnson County Courthouse.
