Rubie Fay Hays, 70, of Prairie Grove went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Jan. 4, 2004, in Fayetteville. She was born Feb. 7, 1933, in Tennessee, the daughter of Murry and Reeder Jones Lewis. She worked for and retired from Campbell Soup Co., and she was a devoted Christian.

She is survived by three sons, Harold Stephenson of Prairie Grove, James Stephenson of Stilwell, Okla., Robert Hays of Prairie Grove; four daughters, Wanda Prichard of West Fork, Kay Ross of Fayetteville, Donna Starr of Farmington and Carol Ward of Prairie Grove; two sisters, Helen Ford of Colcord, Okla., and Violet Finchem of Searcy; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Jewell Weaver, DeWitt Weaver, Murry C. Lewis Jr., Charles Douglas Lewis and her husband, Charles Hays.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at Tharp Cemetery in Fayetteville with the Rev. Cecil Sugg officiating.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
