Funeral Services for Donald Eldon Weinberg of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 12:00 pm, Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bill House officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home.

Donald passed away March 13, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 87. He was born March 22, 1924, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of August and Frances Lyle Weinberg. He married Ann Doermer on November 29, 1947. He owned a Hardware store in Hartland, Wisconsin, then worked as a Maintenance Foreman for Elmbrook School District in Brookfield, WI. He later started and owned a Montgomery Ward Store in Watertown, Wisconsin. Donald was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II. He lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1985 moving from Oconomowoc, WI. after retirement Donald and his wife Ann worked for about four years to make Briarcliff into a town and succeeded in 1998. He was the first elected mayor and served as the head commissioner for approximately six years after serving as mayor.

Donald is survived by one son, Mike (Susan) Weinberg of Wheaton, IL; daughter-in-law, Nancy (Mike) Ark of Gurnee, IL; 3 grandsons: Stephen Ark, Mike Weinberg, and Jack Weinberg; one sister, Arlane Kaska; one sister-in-law, Judi (Frank) Caster; one brother-in-law, John (Marion) Doermer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Doermer Weinberg; parents; one brother, Maynard and one sister, Violet Biedrzycki.

Entombment will be in a private estate at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery with Mike Ark, Stephen Ark, Mike Weinberg, Mike Weinberg, Jr, Jack Weinberg and Cornell Benkendorfer as pallbearers. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post 52 Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to charity of one's choice.

Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
