DUTCH MILLS - Walter Terry Scott Farmer, 80, of Salem Springs community died March 25, 2005, at his home. He was born April 11, 1924, in Texas to Solomon E. and Maggie Fields Farmer. He moved to Arkansas from California and has been a resident of Washington County for 48 years. He worked as a truck driver for Willis Shaw Trucking and as a poultry grower for Tyson Foods before retiring. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Faye Farmer in 1984.

Survivors include two sons, Terry Farmer of Auburn, Wash., Bob Farmer of Mount Carmel, Tenn.; two daughters, Joan Phillips of Evansville; Linda Jackson of Lincoln; three brothers, Earl Farmer of Hemmet, Calif., Lester Farmer of Lincoln, Leonard Farmer of Cincinnati; one sister, Oleta Austin of Gravette; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove with Jack Austin officiating. Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery near Dutch Mills.

Pallbearers will be Russell McGaughy, Darrell Farmer, Clifford Farmer, Leonard Farmer Jr., Walt Reed, Johnny Owens; Johnny Holcomb and Gary Morris.

Mrs. Jessie Faye Farmer, 57, of Lincoln, died at Fayetteville Sept. 16. She was born Nov. 13, 1926 at Longwolf, Okla., the daughter of Jess and Lillian Martin Ritter. She was a member of Dutch Mills Liberty Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband, Walter Farmer of the home; two sons, Perry Farmer of Fayetteville and Bob Farmer of Morrow; two daughters, Linda Lava of Dutch Mills and Joan Phillips of Lincoln; three brothers, Ray Ritter and Darrell Ritter, both of California, and Lillard Ritter of Decatur; two sisters, Imagene Delson of Gentry and Phrissia Nix of California; her mother, Lillian Ritter of Bueana Park, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday, at 1 p.m. at the Dutch Mills Liberty Baptist Church with Revs. Homer Rich and Kurt Cypert officiating. Burial will be in White Rock Cemetery near Dutch Mills under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
