Joyce Marie Meyer, 81, of Jacksonville passed from this life on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock. She was born Saturday, June 19, 1937 in Deckerville, Arkansas to the late Esker L. “Sonny” and Fannie M. Derrick Dobson. Joyce enjoyed sewing, cooking, good conversation and playing games. She was always very active in her church and community, regularly volunteering her time to assist people in preparing tax returns. Joyce was also an avid golfer. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Belinda Finch; siblings, Nadine Spain, Willie Dobson, Joey Dobson, Carolyn Fletcher and Esker Dobson.
Survivors include her children, Susan Metcalf (Ron Campbell) of Maumelle, Sheryl (Eugene) Staggs of Jacksonville and adopted great-granddaughter, Stephanie Meyer of Jacksonville. Other survivors include siblings, Dorothy Booth of Osceola, Anne Petras of Marietta, Georgia, Pat (Edward) Cain of Marion, and Martha (Jon Mark) Seitz of Bartlett, Tennessee; along with seven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, July 16, 2018 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
