OBIT

Floyd James Washburn, 74, of Cabot, formerly of Conway, died Sunday, December 9, 2018 at his home in Cabot. Mr. Washburn was born August 31, 1944 in Macomb, Illinois to the late Arthur James and Elgin Knapp Washburn. He was a member of Conway United Methodist Church and most recently, Cabot United Methodist Church. Mr. Washburn worked in quality control for Frigidaire in Conway for 25 years and was Vice President of Yarnell’s Ice Cream for 10 years before his retirement. He was a lifelong pilot, enjoyed owning and driving sports cars and racing his midget racecar. However, his greatest joy was his grandchildren and he was their biggest fan. In addition to his parents, Mr. Washburn was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Wright; his sister, Angela Wilson and his aunt and uncle, Bob and Fern Berry.

Mr. Washburn is survived by his wife, Elizabeth A. Walker Washburn; daughters, Sherry Elizabeth Washburn Smith (Tony) and Teresa Lynn Washburn Rowland (Wes), all of Cabot; grandchildren, Michael Atkinson (Jessica) of Greenbrier, Bailey Atkinson, Katie Atkinson, Ethan Smith, Emily Smith and Macie Rowland, all of Cabot; nephew, Scott Hall of Ward and a host of other nieces and nephews; his dog, Zoie and many good friends.

The Washburn family asks that memorial gifts be made to the Cabot Animal Shelter, 2851 S. First Street, Cabot, AR 72023 or your local animal shelter.

A memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in the chapel of Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home with Reverend Ray Vining officiating with entombment following at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
