Joseph William "JW" Richey Jr son of Joseph William (JW) Richey Sr and Dallas Claratine (Hudson) Richey. Joyce Charlene (Quarry) Richey daughter of Arthur Quarry and Lucy Rovellah (Bailey) Quarry.


LYNN -- J. W. Richey Jr., 74, of Lynn passed away Tuesday.
He was a Baptist minister in Arkansas for many years, his membership was at Saffell Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Richey of the home; two sons, Dennis Richey of Simpsonville, S.C., and Bill Richey of Little Rock; his mother, Dallas Richey of Walnut Ridge; a brother, James B. Richey of Lynn; two sisters, Earlene Ashlock of Cave City and Mary Sue Alls of Troy, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

Service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Saffell Missionary Baptist Church with Eddie Gene Wright and Larry Everidge officiating.

Interment will be in the Old Lebanon Cemetery under the direction of the Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. in Saffell Missionary Baptist Church

J.W. Richey Jr., 74, of Lynn, died Oct. 24, 2006, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Born May 13, 1932, in Strawberry, he was a Baptist minister in Arkansas for many years and was a member of the Saffell Missionary Baptist Church. .

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph William Richey Sr.; and a sister, Patsy Oliver.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Charlene Quarry Richey, whom he married Feb. 4, 1950; two sons, Dennis Richey, Simpsonville, S.C., and Bill Richey, Little Rock; his mother, Dallas Hudson Richey, Walnut Ridge; a brother, James B. Richey, Lynn; two sisters, Earlene Ashlock, Cave City, and Mary Sue Alls, Troy, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral was Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Saffell Missionary Baptist Church with Bros. Eddie Gene Wright and Larry Etheridge officiating. Burial was in Old Lebanon Cemetery under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home

Joyce Richey, 85, wife of the late Joseph W. Richey, Jr., passed away Monday, January 28, 2019.

Born in Lawrence County, AR, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lucy Bailey Quarry.

Mrs. Richey was a member of Glendale Baptist Church in Mauldin, SC.

She is survived by two sons, Rev. Dennis Richey and wife, Linda of Simpsonville, SC, and Bill Richey and wife, Phyllis of Little Rock, AR; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Quarry.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast in Simpsonville, SC.

A second visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 2nd at Saffell Missionary Baptist Church in Saffell, AR from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.

Burial will take place in Old Lebanon Cemetery near Eaton, AR.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Glendale Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 561, Mauldin, SC 29662.
