PRESLEY, Margaret A. KELTON - Margaret A. Kelton, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. S.H. Kelton, was born in middle Tennessee, near Johnsonville, on March 20, 1865. She moved with her parents to Bentonville, Arkansas in 1870. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at the age of eleven years and joined the M.E. church, south. Since that time she has lived a consistent life of a Christian. She was married at the age of seventeen years to J.C. Presley on September 2, 1882. To them were born twelve children, seven girls and five boys. All are living but two. One boy died in infancy and one girl died in 1903 at the age of seven years. Eight children are at home - four boys and four girls. Two girls are married. They are Mrs. Marion Seamster of Sulphur Springs, Arkansas and Mrs. Lee Seamster of Bentonville. The children were all present at the funeral and two sisters and one brother, Mrs. J.B. Jackson of Bentonville and Mrs. W.S. Barnes and Will Kelton of Tahlequah, Okla. Three weeks from the day she was taken bad with a smothering spell she was laid to rest at the Gamble cemetery. She had a complication of diseases - enlargement of the liver and leaking of the heart. She had not been in good health for ten years but was always kind and patient and loved by all who knew her. She departed this life April 23, 1914 aged forty-nine years, one month and three days. She never realized that she was bad. She is gone but not forgotten. Weep not, dear loved ones, for her. She is in Heaven waiting for you. A Friend.
