CROSBY, Andrew - Funeral services over the remains of Andrew Crosby who passed away on Wednesday of last week, were held last Sunday afternoon from the Methodist Church with interment in the city cemetery, the services being attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends.

Lewis Crosby of Laramie, Wyoming left last Thursday for his home after being called here by the death of Andrew Crosby and spending a few days with relatives and friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Crosby returned to their home in Salina, Kan. last Thursday. They were called here by the sickness and death of Andrew Crosby. Mrs. A. Crosby, his mother, accompanied them home and will spend several months in Salina.

Andrew Crosby, age 80 years, died at the family home near Gentry early Wednesday morning after an illness of many months duration. Funeral arrangements are as yet incomplete pending the arrival of relatives. The deceased was a well known resident of this section and is survived by his companion and eleven children, seven sons and four daughters. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in this, their sad hour.

Andrew Crosby was born in Shelbyville, Ind. April 21, 1848 and died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 1928 at 12:30 p.m. at the age of 80 years, four months and 29 days. At an early age he moved to Kansas where he met and married Susan Stranger on April 3, 1889. To this union were born 13 children, two of whom preceded him in death. He moved with his family to Arkansas in 1913 and lived near Gentry till his death, which occurred at the family home one mile south of town. He leaves to mourn his loss the widow and the following children: Harry C. of Otter, Mont,; Emma Dent, Bavaria, Ks.; Katie Brown, Salina, Ks.; Walter A., Salina, Ks.; Amos, Fergus Falls, Minn.; Lewis H., Laramie, Wyo.; Roy, Canon City, Colo.; and Sylvia, Bertha, Everett and Clarence, all at home. Mr. Crosby was United Brethren in faith.- Contributed.
