FAYETTEVILLE — Roy Hayden Stout, age 78, of Fayetteville died Friday, June 22, 2012, in Fayetteville.

He was born April 28, 1934, in Fayetteville, the son of Clinton and Pearley Guist Stout. He was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Stout and Michael Stout; sister, Anna Mae Baker; and his brother, Melvin Stout.

He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Fayetteville where he served as deacon for many years. He retired from the Washington County Road Department after 22 years, coached the Skate Place speed team for eight years, and was the caretaker for Tharp Cemetery in Fayetteville. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bonnie McConnell Stout; his son, Larry Stout and his wife, Debra, of Farmington, Ark.; a daughter, Donna Brt and her husband Dusty of Johnson, Ark.; sister, Ethel Smith of Fayetteville, Ark.; five grandchildren, Chris Stout and his wife, Amber, Steven Stout and his fiancee, Amber Carlin, Jeremy Stout and his wife, LaShea, Dustin Brt and Brandy Yocom; three great-grandchildren, Allison, Sydney and Aubrey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 25, at Moore's Chapel.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Free Will Baptist Church in Fayetteville with burial in Tharp Cemetery, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
