Alice Bishop Ponder, 76 of Elm Grove, LA, formerly of Smackover, AR, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015, at Riverview Care Center in Bossier City, LA

Mrs. Ponder was born July 10, 1938 to the union of John Lee Bishop and Bessie M. LaBeff in Smackover, AR.

Survivors include her longtime companion; Melton Gregory of Elm Grove, LA, her five children; Johnny H. Ponder and wife Donna of El Dorado, David W. Ponder and wife Heidi of El Dorado, Darlene Hamilton of Dover, AR, Thomie Sue Vo of Elm Grove, LA and Kenneth T. Ponder and wife Kerri of Elm Grove, LA, her sister; Dorothy Holt, of Meza, AZ, nine grandchildren; John P. Ponder, Rachel Berry, David A Ponder, Brittaney Yarbrough, Wayne Ray, Ronnie Ray, Linh Vo, Binh Vo, and Shelbi Bolyer, twelve great grandchildren and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; Huey P. Ponder, two brothers; John and Doyle Bishop, two sisters; Katherine Colvin and Martha Cook

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado, with Rev. Robert Walker officiating. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery, Lisbon, AR under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 24, 2015, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado.
