December 31, 1902 - August 11, 1964
Robert Parks, 62, died in his home in Smackover Tuesday at 4 p.m. He was born Dec. 31, 1901, the son of John C. and Margaret McWilliams Parks. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Smackover and of the Warren G. Hardine Masonic Lodge of Smackover. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. L. T. Primm, El Dorado; two sons, Wayne Parks and John Murray Parks of Smackover; one sister, Miss Daisy Parks, Smackover; two brothers, A. L. Parks, Smackover and Grady Parks, LaPlace, La.; and several grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Methodist church in Smackover with the Rev. Harold K. Davis and the Rev. Kenneth Everett officiating. Burial will be at the Salem Cemetery under the direction of Pratt Funeral Home. Graveside Masonic rites will be conducted. Pallbearers will be Joe Dews, Roy Spain, Ruben Darden, Walker Darden, George Parks, and J. C. Parks. The body will be carried to the John Parks home in Smackover at 2 p.m. Wednesday, where it will remain until time for the services. (The El Dorado Times - August 12, 1964)
