COPELAND, Martin – Martin Copeland, an old Federal soldier (?), died Sunday at the Trahin place, four miles northeast of town, at the age of 88. He died of heart failure. The funeral services were conducted at the home yesterday by Dr. S.W. Davies. The interment was in Sons Chapel cemetery. He leaves a widow, aged 80.

COPELAND, Martin – Martin Copeland filed Veteran Application #13190 with the Confederate Pension Board of Washington County for a Confederate pension and it was received as allowed August 14, 1911 at the State, citing service in Company E, 11th Missouri Infantry from date of enlistment thru 1865.
