Gale “Buck” Fryar, 66, of Crossett, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 at Ashley County Medical Center. He was born November 1, 1948 in Monticello to James and Dorothy Fryar. He was employed for 32 years at the Felsenthal Lock & Dam as a Lockmaster for Corps of Engineers. He was a member of the Crossett Riding Club and Grace Christian Fellowship Church. He actively participated in the rodeos each year and owned the nicest horse trailer in town, however, he never owned a horse of his own.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Milton Fryar and Dorothy Maysel Crain Fryar. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Annette Williams Fryar of Crossett; two sons, James (Jim) Gale Fryar and Stephen Fryar Forest of Crossett; three daughters, Vickie Inman and husband Mike of Broken Arrow, OK, Lynda Stuart and husband Ronnie of Garvin, OK, and Cendie Fawcett and husband Robert of Little Elm, TX, one sister, Paula Stokes and husband Larry of Hampton, AR, two nephews, Ashley Anders and wife Sheri of Tifton, GA, and Paige Anders and wife Erin of Arkadelphia, AR; along with ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, July 26, at Grace Christian Fellowship Church, 912 S. Martin Luther King Drive in Crossett with Bro. Scott Wheeler officiating. Pallbearers are Robert Woolsey, Rocky Stuart, Sam Stuart, Jake Fryar, Paige Anders, Daniel Hill, Alan Brewer and Josh Hartley. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Stokes, Thomas Glen Childers, Davis Harper, Dewayne Broach, Robert “Bob” Crain, John G. Crain, Ed Blankenship, Ronnie Wheeler and Ashley Anders.
A Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m., Saturday at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W in North Crossett.
