Loving Parents of Tommy and Gary

Bobbie Lee (Belote) Troutman, 90, of Hot Springs, left this earth peacefully to be with her Heavenly Father last Saturday morning. She was born on February 24, 1930, in Conway to Irvin and Floy Belote. She was a member of First United Methodist Church for most all of her adult life. She was a retired RN, having worked at Conway Regional Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital, the Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center where she taught Nursing for over 17 years, Oaklawn as track nurse, and she eventually retired from Levi Hospital, where she also remains their youngest RN graduate ever—at age 20 in 1950—after coming to Hot Springs following graduation from England (AR) High School in 1947.

Bobbie was a resolute and independent woman who loved her family and friends fiercely. She enjoyed traveling to Branson a few times a year with Bill and, after his passing, for shopping and “prowling” excursions there with her family. Bobbie was also up for the occasional road trip to see family in other states whenever the opportunity arose. She also took great pride in her home and loved gardening and working in her yard, which she often did most of the day up until dark.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Bill Troutman; a son, Tommy David Troutman who died at the age of four in 1963; her parents; her father- and mother-in-law Roy and Chloe Troutman; her brothers Bill and Chuck Belote, and sisters-in-law Doris Belote, Jean Childers, Helen Belote, and Fayrene Belote. She leaves behind to treasure her memory a son, Gary Troutman, and daughter-in-law Michelle, both of Hot Springs; granddaughter Shelby Goss of Bryant; two brothers, Doug Belote of Conway and Harold Belote of Greenbrier; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bob and Joyce Troutman of Hot Springs; special nieces and nephews Carolyn and Bill Kelly of Lawrence, KS; Ken and Donna Belote of Vilonia; Kim and Christi Childers of Durango, CO; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends whom she held near and dear to her heart.

Pallbearers will be Richard Belote, Bill Kelly, Kim Childers, John Drake, Darrel Schwilling, and Les Warren. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Kevin Hale, Ken Belote, the staff of Levi Hospital, and the former staff of the Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center.

The service will be held at 10AM on Saturday, October 10th at Gross Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th from 6PM-8PM, also at Gross Funeral Home. A private ceremony for the family will be held after the service, and burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Levi Hospital or First United Methodist Church in Bobbie’s memory.
