Sis. Dorothy McConnell, departed this life on August 09, 2014 at Ouachita County Medical Center, Camden, AR. Dorothy Rae McConnell was born on April 17, 1950 to O. M. and Maudie Faye Mitchell, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are her step mother, Laura Mitchell; three sisters, Clara Ann Mitchell, Patricia Ann Mitchell and Evelyn Pace; three brothers, Bryon Mitchell, Oreon Mack Mitchell and Mack Mitchell; and one son, Hershel Jerome Williams; a very special friend, Clifford "Sug" Wiggins and a nephew, Joe Thrower.
She was united in holy matrimony to Hershel Williams who also precedes her in death. To this union two children were born. Later she united in holy matrimony to Donald Ray McConnell. Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age. She was a housewife and a very good cook. She also was the life of the party.
She leaves to mourn, four children, Charles Ray Williams, Vickie Williams, Bryant McConnell and Antonette Williams all of Camden, AR; four sisters, Delores Dawn, Selma "Katy" Thrower, Jeanette Purifoy (Ernie) and Mary "Cat" Fields; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; special god daughters, Evelyn Clay, Felicia Rabion; and Marie Thomas; god brother, Kenny Mayweather; special care givers, Antonette Williams, Angie Benton and Felicia Rabion; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Connection International Ministry with burial in Eternal Rest Cemetery. Reverend Jacovis Davis will officiate the services. Visitation will be 6-8 Friday at the funeral home.
