Dwight “Red” Smith, Sr. was born May 8, 1958, to Dorlean Smith Johnson and Wallace Elliott in Camden, Arkansas. He departed this life on September 15, 2017, at the VA Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Dwight was a truck driver and Automotive Mechanic, often called the “MacGyver” of Automotive. He was a member of Class of 1976 at Camden High School and served in the US Navy for 2 years. He accepted Christ at an early age at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, he later became a member of Mt. Gillard Missionary Baptist Church. He was married to Pearlie Smith and to this union two sons were born.

Dwight was one of seven siblings, one brother; John Porter, and his mother and father preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 40 years, Pearlie Smith, two sons, Dwight, Jr. and DeMarcus Smith all of Camden, Arkansas; one grandson, Bralon Smith of Camden, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Amire Trammell of Roseville, Minnesota; two brothers, Orlando Porter of Camden, Arkansas; Eddie (Tressa) White of Louann, Arkansas; four sisters, Caralee Morris, Rockford, Illinois, Annie P. Patton, Phyllis (Willkie) Porchia, all of Camden, Arkansas; Carolyn (George) Blair of Joppa, Maryland. Two special aunts, Lessie Roddy, Maggie Lean Daugherty, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
