Memorial Service for Johnny Curtis Tatum of Decatur and formerly of Camden, Arkansas will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Bridge Builders Church International with Pastor Darrius Crayton officiating.


Johnny Curtis Tatum was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on October 8, 1955 to the late Grady Lee and the late Birdie Mae Walker Tatum. The Tatum family later moved to Camden, AR. He was the youngest of 10 children. Throughout Johnny's adult life he experienced many joyous times along with trials and tribulations. He loved life and he loved people, especially his family. Johnny never met a stranger and helped all that came in contact with him. He rededicated his life to Christ and was baptized at Bridge Builders International Church, this past summer. He was called to glory on Friday, February 24, 2012.



He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Akilah Tatum, brothers Norris, Terry and Grady, and sisters Mary Jo (Ajeenah) and Mary O. Kirk.



He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Cassandra Tatum-Thrower (Shelley), his grandchildren, Alexis and Elijah Thrower, his church family; his special friend, Cynthia Harris; sisters, Katrina McRae of Kansas City, MO and Clote Lewis (Frank) in Detroit, MI; brothers, Richard "Billy" Tatum of Camden, Arkansas and Charlie Tatum in Seattle, WA; uncle, Ellis Davis of El Dorado, AR; sisters-in-law, Joyce, Jean and Jo Evelyn, a good friend, Ross Hall and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews.
