ALICE SHELTON - RISON - Funeral services for Alice G. Hines Shelton, 63, of Star City, who died Tuesday (June 21, 1988) at Rison Nursing Center here, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Ollie Missionary Baptist Church at Meroney with the Rev. Floyd Robinson officiating.

Burial will be in St. Ollie Cemetery by Davis Funeral Home of Dermott.

Born in Lincoln County on November 21, 1924. She was a daughter of James Hines of the Tarry community and Eliza Spencer Hill of Altheimer.

She was a member of St. Ollie Missionary Baptist Church.

Other survivors include her husband, Ben Shelton of Star City; six sons: the Rev. Wiley Shelton of Star City, Albert Shelton and Willie Shelton, both of San Diego, and Jack Shelton, James Shelton and Johnny Shelton, all of the Tarry community; five daughters: Rosie L. Anderson of Memphis, Aggie Polk of Pine Bluff, Flora Mae Barrett of Atlanta, Mary Shelton of Kansas City and Alzalee Whaley of Star City; a stepson: J.B. Shelton of Detroit; two stepdaughters: Roberta Washington of Kansas City and Naomi Shelton of Oakland, California; a sister: Laura Mae Anderson of Pine Bluff, 50 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son: Ben Shelton, Jr. who died in 1949
