Judge E. E. Cochran received a telegram Monday morning announcing the death of his grandmother, Mrs. Martha J. Holman, widow of the late Judge Joseph Holman of Little River County. Mrs. Holman was living with her daughter, Mrs. Bagerly, at old Paytenville, at the time of her death. She was 85 years old and had lived a useful and christian life. Judge Cochran and wife left Monday afternoon for Ashdown where the remains will be laid to rest in the cemetery at that place. Mrs. Holman was perhaps one of the best known ladies in Little River County, being a pioneer of that county. Though ripe in years she will be missed in her neighborhood.
