Kay Flynn, 90, of Spring, Texas, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017.
Born Mary Catherine Cutrell on July 4, 1926 in Pine Bluff, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Charles Edmond Avaritt Jr. and Willie Sue Ridgway Avaritt.
Mrs. Flynn was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1944. After her graduation, she worked for National Bank of Commerce in Pine Bluff.
She married James Howard Flynn March 3, 1949. Mrs. Flynn enjoyed being a homemaker, decorating her home, and gardening. She was a former member of First United Methodist church in Pine Bluff and Trinity United Methodist Church in Little Rock. Since moving to Spring, Texas she had attended worship services provided at her residence in The Village at Gleannloch Farms.
Mrs. Flynn was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Howard Flynn.
Survivors include her brother, Charles Edmond Avaritt III of Zapata, Texas; two sons, James Howard (Jim) Flynn Jr. and wife Janet of Magnolia, Texas and Charles Douglas (Chuck) Flynn and wife Ann of Haymarket, Va.; one grandson, James H Flynn III and wife Lisa of Magnolia, Texas and one granddaughter, Holley Catherine Mosley and husband Scott of Frisco, Texas; three great-grandchildren, James Henry Flynn, Ryan Peter Flynn, and Caitlin Ann Flynn of Magnolia, Texas.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Roy Smith officiating. Mrs. Flynn will lie in state Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Robinson's.
