Johnie B. Avery (Buddy Buddy), 78 of Camden, AR, died on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado, AR. He was born on August 3, 1935 in Camden, AR. He was employed at International Paper Co. for 41 years and sang with The Clouds of Joy quartet for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Odell Purifoy and Selwin Avery; his stepmother, Helen Avery; his wife, Pearlean Avery; two sisters, Milrene Avery, Selmarene Kidd, daughter, Johnie Diane Avery; two sons, Richard Jones and George Jones.

He is survived by one daughter, Jewelean Williams (Michael) of Camden; two sons, Johnny Ray Avery; Stephone Avery, Sr. (Angela) of Camden; three brothers, Wendell Harris (Judy) of Rockford, IL Nathaniel Avery, Sr. (Doris), Stanley Avery (Gladys) all of Camden; two sisters, Cleaster Harris of Rockford, IL and Sharon (Baby Doll) Cunningham (Oscar) of Warren, OH; goddaughter, Cynthia Coleman of Camden; eight grandchilden; nine great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 03, 2014 at St. Paul Christian Church in Harmony Grove with Rev. Frank Dawn officiating. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. A burial will follow at White Springs Community Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-6 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
