GRAVETTE — Dale Meek, 77, of Gravette died Feb. 28, 2007. He was born Feb. 13, 1930, in Decatur to
D.O. "Bus" and Goldie Marie Holt Meek. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Sibley Engineering in 1992 after 32 years as a machinist. He was a member of Full Gospel Church in Southwest City, Mo. He married Rowena Jean Smith on March 1, 1953.

Survivors include his wife, Rowena of the home; four sons, Howard Meek and wife Rhonda of Gravette, Vernon Meek and wife Beverly of Gravette, Michael Meek and wife Betsy of Gravette, Steven Meek and wife Debbie of Gravette; one brother, Bob Meek of Decatur; one sister, Virgie Maddox of Gravette; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Full Gospel Church in Southwest City with Mark Short officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, online at www.wassonfuneralhome.com.

GRAVETTE — Rowena Jean Smith Meek, 82, of Gravette was called to her eternal home by her Lord and Savior on Nov. 13, 2016. Rowena was born Jan. 20, 1934, in Decatur to Albert and Zelma Smith as the third of six children.

She graduated from Decatur High School in 1951. She married Homer Dale Meek on March 1, 1952. The couple lived briefly in California before settling in Gravette. Rowena was a homemaker and raised chickens for Peterson Farms. She enjoyed working with children and spent several years as a substitute teacher at Glenn Duffy Elementary. Her hobbies included sewing and quilting.

Rowena was an active member of Full Gospel Church in Southwest City, Missouri, for over 50 years. She served as a Sunday School teacher and was active in the Sewing to Sow ministry. She was also part of the quilting group at the Church of Christ in Gravette.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert Smith and Zelma Payne Smith; her husband, Homer Dale Meek; a son, Howard Dale Meek; two sisters, Nitabelle Smith and Carol Ann Wilson; two brothers, Johnny Smith and Val Smith; and a daughter-in-law, Deborah Joan Meek. She is survived by a brother, Charles Smith of Bella Vista; three sons, Vernon Meek of Rogers, and wife, Beverly; Mike Meek of Bella Vista, and wife, Betsy; and Steven Meek of Bella Vista, and wife, Debbie; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Meek of Gravette; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Nov. 18 from 5-7 p.m. at Bella Vista Funeral Home. Services will be Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. at Full Gospel Church in Southwest City, Mo. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Gravette.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Howard Meek Memorial Scholarship Fund at Full Gospel Church, or Full Gospel Church children's ministries in Southwest City, Mo. Online condolences may be made at www.funeralmation.com.
