GRAVETTE — Lee Roy Alsup, 81, of Gravette died Aug. 11, 2002, at his home. He was born Sept. 5, 1920, in Goodlett, Texas, to Abe and Pearl Morrow Alsup. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1970 from Texas and started a cattle and poultry operation. In 1999, he received the Benton County Farm Family of the Year award. He was a Mason for 54 years and a member of the Northwest Arkansas Cattleman's Association and the First Baptist Church in Centerton. He was a former director of the Federal Land Bank. He enjoyed fox hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Alsup, to whom he was married 62 years; two sons, Dennis Alsup of Rogers and Danny Alsup of Gravette; two daughters, Lavon Stark of Gravette and Simona Simon of Lubbock, Texas; three brothers, Gomer Alsup of Gravette, Aubrey Alsup of Katy, Texas, and Bob Alsup of Lubbock; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bethel Cemetery south of Gravette with the Rev. Stuart Bell and Wayne Lindsay officiating.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Stockdale Funeral Services in Rogers.

Memorials may be made in his name to a favorite children's charity.

GRAVETTE — Christine Montzella Alsup, 95, of Gravette, Ark., passed away, Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Circle of Life Legacy Village, in Bentonville. She was born May 5, 1921, in Huffstuttle, Texas, to Roy and Lille Mae Jones.

After graduating from high school in Woodson, Texas, she married Lee Roy Alsup, Jan. 6, 1940, in Breckenridge, Texas. They farmed in the Texas panhandle until 1970 when they moved to NW Arkansas and purchased Blossom Hill Ranch southeast of Gravette.

She was a true farm wife and helpmate to her husband, Lee Roy. Her life motto was "faith, family and farming." They were named "Benton County Farm Family" of the year in 1999. Many folks were blessed to receive her famous "homemade pies" and to see her collection of Fenton glass. Hummingbirds and flowers were other pastimes she enjoyed. Always active in the community, she was past president of NWA Cowbells, a member of Eastern Star and Heritage Baptist Church in Gravette.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years; two brothers and six sisters. Christine is survived by four children; sons, Dennis Alsup and wife, Camelia of Rogers, Danny Alsup and wife, Debbie of Gravette; daughters, Lavon Stark and husband, Rickie of Gravette, Simona Simon and husband, Milton of Lubbock, Texas; three sisters, Wanda Gage of Cross Plains, Texas, Muriel Swing of Worland, Wyo., Gerry Gray and husband, Donnie, of Cookville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Tim Alsup, Kevin Alsup, Angie Martin, Michelle House, Tyneal Buckner, Lacy Miller, Jacy Lippoldt, Carson Alsup; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2016, at Heritage Baptist Church in Gravette with the Rev. Dr. Darrell Kepler officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time.

Memorials may be made in memory of Christine Alsup to Heritage Baptist Church, 307 4th Ave. SE, Gravette, Ark., 72736. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers. Word of comfort and memories may be shared at stockdalefuneral.com.
