Hoxie, February 15. -(Special)-Monday Last
Dr. U. L. Huggins, a prominent physician residing at Alicia, died at that place with smallpox. His son, Oscar, a local conductor on the Iron Mountain, about two weeks ago contracted the disease, presumably at Argenta, and was taken to the pest house in Little Rock and died. The doctor visited his son and contracted the disease, resulting in his death.

Doctor Huggins, Father of Oscar Huggins, Died From Awful Disease at His Home.
Hoxie, Feb. 15. [1905] -- Monday last

Dr. U. L. Huggins, a prominent physician residing at Alicia, died at that place with smallpox. His son, Oscar, a local conductor on the Iron Mountain, about two weeks ago contracted the disease, presumably at Argenta, and was taken to the pest house in Little Rock and died. The doctor visited his son and contracted the disease, resulting in his death.

Tuckerman [city] Quarantined.

Hoxie, Ark., Feb. 16 -- On account of one case of smallpox being in Walnut Ridge and the death of Dr. Huggins Monday at Alicia with this disease it is reported that Tuckerman has quarantined against those towns, including this place and Swifton. For information of the public and Tuckerman in particular, there is no disease or sickness of any kind among the citizens of Hoxie.
