Palmer L. Anthony, Jr., 94, of Thornton died Monday, September 25, 2017. He was born August 8, 1923 in Bearden, Arkansas. He was a retired Director of the Department of Special Weapons with the United States Navy. He was a U.S. Army Air Force World War II veteran. Palmer was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Bearden. He is preceded in death by his parents, Palmer L. Anthony, Sr. and Bedie Payne Anthony; and one aunt, Cora Payne. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Anthony of Thornton; one son, Philip (Jenny) Anthony of Yukon, OK; one daughter, Thereasa Culp of Little Rock; and five grandchildren. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Friday, September 29, 2017 at Moss Cemetery in Bearden with Rev. Andy Hughes officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.net.
