Eldridge Smith Dockins

Eldridge Smith Dockins of Brockwell, son of the late Dudley W. and Dollie (Norton) Dockins was born on July 21, 1915 at Newburg. He died March 2, 1995 at his residence in Brockwell at the age of 79.
Mr Dockins was united in marriage to Fern Killian on June 14, 1940 at Mountain Home. They had three children. He spent his life as a farmer and was a Methodist.
Mr Dockins is survived by his wife, Fern of the home; two daughters, Sue Walker and Joan Robins both of Jefferson City, Missouri; one son Kenard Dockins of Brockwell; five sisters, Eddie Zimmerman, Dale Thomas, Arlie Gillihan, Audrey Turner and Gail Williams all of Washington; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Services were March 6 at the Howard Chapel in Melbourne with Gail Wooten officiating.
Pallbearers were Bobby Dockins, Rex Ogle, Jason Majors, Shannon Washington, Kenny Robins and Tim Whitehurst. Honorary pallbearers were Gary Laughlin, James Wright, Steve Turner, David Washington and Mike Washington.
Interment was at the Violet Hill Cemetery in Violet Hill under the direction of Howard Funeral Home of Melbourne.
