Billy Gene Dockins, of Oxford, son of the late William Shafter Dockins and Onia Lee Clark Dockins, was born September 15, 1935 in Bandmill, Arkansas. He died June 22, 2012 at his home in Oxford at the age of 76 years 9 months and 7 days.
He was united in marriage to Lena Faye Sherrell on May 1, 1953 in Calico Rock and to this union one son was born. He was a self-employed plumber and attended services at the Oxford Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of the family home; his son Tim Dockins and wife Beverly of Oxford; three grandchildren, Josh Dockins, Jake Dockins and Kaitlyn James all of Oxford; two sisters, Shirley Cunningham and husband J.W. of North Port, AL and Rudene Everett of Melbourne and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifton Dockins and Pete Dockins; three sisters, Vernice Crawford, Ruby Davis and Ala Mae Stevenson; a grandson, Jesse Aaron Dockins and his father and mother.
Funeral services are Sunday June 24, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Cox-Blevins Chapel with burial in Oxford Cemetery under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
Pallbearers are Eric Weaver, Randy Sherrell, Joe Dockins, Rusty Claxton, Glendon Everett and Alan Sherrell.
Honorary Pallbeares are Jimmy Owens, Darrell Owens, Jack Yancey, Connie Everett, Glen Everett, Teddy McCurley, James Dockins, Howard Blankenship, Jerry Blevins and Mike Warden.

Lena Faye Dockins, 78 of Oxford, Arkansas passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Crown Point Nursing and Rehab in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. She was born on September 22, 1938 in Oxford, Arkansas, daughter of the late Faye (Ballard) and Eldridge Timothy Sherrell.
Lena was united in marriage to the late Billy Gene Dockins in Oxford, Arkansas and from union came one son, Timothy Dockins. She spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, friend and homemaker. Lena was a member of Oxford Baptist Church in Oxford, Arkansas.
Lena is survived by her son, Timothy Dockins and wife Beverly of Oxford, Arkansas; two sister, Billie Prewett of West Plains, Missouri and Pam Johnson of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; brother, Donnie Sherrell of Joplin, Missouri and three grandchildren, Kaitlyn James, Josh Dockins and Jake Dockins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Eldridge and Faye Sherrell; husband, Billy Dockins; grandson, Jesse Dockins and sister, Joyce Bryant.
Graveside service will be held Monday, November 14, 2016 beginning at 1:00 PM at Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Arkansas with Bro. Steve Stevenson officiating.
Pallbearers include: Josh Dockins, Jake Dockins, Kaitlyn James, Donnie Sherrel, Joe Dockins, and Tony Sherrell.
