James Warren Gossett, aged 74 prominent Bearden business man died suddenly of a heart attack at his home. Mr. Gossett was stricken about 6:00 a.m. this morning while shaving. He was a well known civic leader in Bearden where he was President of the Bear Brand Roofing Company. He lived on a large farm on the outskirts of Bearden, and formerly had farm and livestock interest as well as formerly being in the sawmill business. He was a lifelong resident of Bearden. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Virginia Ozzella Richardson Gossett; three daughters, Mrs. Eric Stuckey of Pine Bluff, Mrs. Ed Burton of Magnolia, and Mrs. George Tullery of South Iran, Asia and by six grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Bearden Methodist Church by Rev. Myron Pierce. Burial will be in the Moss Cemetery at Bearden by Proctor Funeral Home. The body was returned to the family home to remain until service time. (Camden News - December 22, 1960)
